As a leading accountancy practice in the area we recognise the importance of supporting our local community and support one Charity per year.
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland have become our 2021 Charity of the year, a scheme that we run on an annual basis to support charities that are close to our hearts.
Hospice at Home provide a number of services of support and care in the last year of life and end of life. The services they provide are; nursing care, Lymphoedema treatments, family support, complementary therapy, occupational therapy and a befriending service. The Charity uses all donations to allow them to provide these services free of charge to those who need them. A donation as little as £20 would pay for an hour of complementary therapy for a patient, family member or carer.
Alison Welton, Managing Partner said: “We are delighted to be supporting a local Charity, the support that the Hospice at Home provide for those who need it the most is phenomenal. Supporting our local communities provides great opportunities for our teams to work together and we are looking forward to helping the Charity raise as much funds as possible after a difficult year.”
The care that Hospice at Home provide helps manage symptoms, maximise independence for as long as possible, enhance emotional wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and support people to face the end of life on their own terms.
Julie Blundell, Income Generation and Marketing Manager for the Charity said: “Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland are overwhelmed with the wonderful news that David Allen have chosen us as their Charity of the Year for 2021.”
“Good end of life and palliative care and support in the home can make a substantial difference at a distressing time, this is more apparent than ever as the Charity are faced with the challenges of the Covid pandemic. Local patients their families and carers are amongst the most vulnerable within our local community, this support from David Allen through 2021 will help the Charity in the difficult days that lie ahead as we adapt to the future whilst still managing the challenges of the Covid 19 pandemic. We truly appreciate this commitment and look forward to working with the company and with all the Team in their various Offices.”
