Time to do things differently
David turned 30 in December 1996 and decided it was time to do things differently…
1997
David Allen Accountants launches
Garage conversion complete, David was able to set up his own practice and David Allen Accountants launched in April 1997, offering a fresh, sensible and no-nonsense approach to accountancy and professional services.
2000
David Allen Wealth Management incorporated into the group
Set up to be a jargon-free, one-stop shop for investments, retirement planning, wills, trusts, mortgages and estate services.
2001
Dalmar House is built
The business expanded progressively, having out-grown the garage conversion and two rented offices. In August 2001, the business moved into a purpose built office, Dalmar House on Barras Lane in Dalston.
2007
Team expands
As the client base grew, so did the team, and the need for more space. A three-storey extension of Dalmar House completed in October 2007.
2008
First Partner Appointment
Alison Welton is appointed as partner in May.
2009
Open the Workington and Penrith Offices
The client base spanned a vast area of Cumbria and, to keep up with demand, the practice opened two new offices, one in Workington and one in Penrith.
2012
David Allen Recovery Solutions formed
In 2012, a gap in the market was identified and David Allen Recovery Solutions formed part of the David Allen group, offering debt recovery and credit control services to individuals and businesses.
2013
Agriculture Partner
Michael Piele who has been with the practice since he was 16, is appointed as partner in May.
In April David Allen IT Solutions was formed, with a commitment to providing business IT solutions to local companies.
2015
David Allen Wealth Management rebranded as David Allen Financial Services
The firm was reborn as David Allen Financial Services in 2015. The modest change was made to demonstrate the wide range of services offered, from one-off work to investments. The name change welcoming everybody from the one-man band bricklayer to the corporate company.
2016
Dumfries Office Opens
The expansion continued north of the border in April 2016 when the practice acquires a small accountancy business and officially launches the David Allen brand to the surrounding area. This office now has 11 staff and services clients across south-west Scotland.
2018
Over 100 Staff!
Growth and development across all areas requires a big recruitment drive and, for the first time the practice sees its staff numbers tip over 100 employees.
David Allen IT Solutions expand into bigger premises due to continued growth with a dedicated IT team of 10 supporting over 80 businesses and organisations.
2019
New partners and exciting times ahead…
The practice starts the New Year with the announcement of three new partners and the promise of further growth and investment in our staff, infrastructure and future!
