As such, we are currently looking for candidates to undertake a L3 Assistant Account Apprenticeship with the firm’s agricultural team. This is an excellent opportunity for any budding accountant who may have an interest or passion for farming, to take the first step of their career journey, learning fundamental accountancy skills whilst delivering a high-quality service to the agricultural community.
Aims and purpose of the job
The Agricultural Accounts Assistant Apprentice role at David Allen is designed to provide you with practical experience in accounting, with a focus on the agricultural industry. Working within our specialist Accounts Team, you will prepare year-end financial statements for a variety of clients, particularly those in the farming and agricultural sectors. If you have a passion for farming, this role will give you the opportunity to apply your interest in agriculture to a career in accountancy, helping farmers and agricultural businesses manage their financial records and compliance.
About the Apprenticeship
As an L3 Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship (AAT), you will learn the basics of accounts and VAT return preparation, gradually advancing to drafting accounts, tax computations, and VAT returns, all with a focus on the unique financial needs of the farming industry. Your training will combine on-the-job experience, in-house development, and study for the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting qualification. You will also gain expertise in agricultural accounting software, Excel, and Outlook, while developing essential skills like analysis, problem-solving, and communication. As your confidence grows, you’ll take on more complex tasks, supporting agricultural clients and helping them navigate the financial aspects of their business with integrity and professionalism.
