It makes us very proud that we are continuing to go from strength to strength, recruiting IT specialists across the county, to now celebrating being the largest technical IT Solutions team in Cumbria.

Since the start of the year, we have recruited seven new members of staff bringing our team to a total of, an incredible, 16 people.

Neil Gilchrist joined our team earlier in the year as an IT Consultant.  Neil has over 17 years’ experience in IT project delivery, IT support and IT leadership.  He has a wide range of skills and a great customer service manner.  He can explain complex technical issues in easy-to-understand ways to non-technical users.

Andrew Towers who previously worked in both the nuclear and public sectors, has over five years IT experience and is an expert in Microsoft 365 migration – an amazing asset to the team and even more so our clients as many businesses make the move into cloud-based services.

Thomas Goode is renowned for his exceptional client communication and customer service, but in technical terms it’s his network infrastructure expertise that stands him out from the crowd, having advantageous know-how in designing, building, and maintaining networks no matter the size or specification.

Andy Mapp previously worked for a local IT company before moving to work within the NHS IT Infrastructure team.  Andy has great technical knowledge and attention to detail.  He has supported a plethora of organisations in his 10 years in IT, giving him an excellent understanding of how technology can underpin and uplift a successful business.

Joe Jobson joined our team in May and is completing his apprenticeship with us having started it with a small local telecom’s provider.  Joe enjoys building relationships with customers and helping resolve their technical problems.  He learns fast and enjoys adapting to whatever needs done.

Peter Gaskell joined as our latest IT Apprentice and is already proving himself as a real asset to our team.  Our apprenticeship programme has always been a real success, and the training received through Carlisle College is excellent.

Izzy Balfour is joining us on 8 November to bolster our Dumfries team.  Izzy has a number of years’ experience in IT services working for a Managed Service Provider, helping customers with a range of technologies including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Windows 10 and Gamma telephone systems.

Gary Martin, explained: ‘Our business is driven by delivering the best service standards possible.  Ensuring we recruit the best candidates available to support our growing customer base and delivering customer service excellence in all we do is fundamental to our business values and visions.

We have amazing technical expertise and skills within our team and our newest appointments strengthen this even further.  Our technical skill set in cloud-based services such as the Microsoft 365 infrastructure, Exchange Online, Azure, SharePoint and Intune is growing exponentially, as is our experience in hosted phone systems such as Gamma Horizon and Microsoft Business Voice.  The business really is going from strength to strength.  We now have the largest technical team in the local area and our customer base is expanding all the time.  We welcome all our new recruits to the business.’

We have experienced an incredible year, even in the midst of a global pandemic, expanding the team, taking on new business, growing our offering, and most recently being awarded the prestigious Microsoft Gold Partner for the fifth year running.

Gary further explained, ‘When the pandemic hit, we, like most businesses needed to adapt and action change, this was not just for us but for all our clients too.  IT very much got propelled into the forefront of many businesses’ planning and strategy.  Working from home solutions, new hosted telephone systems, video conferencing solutions – all of these things were no longer just a “nice to have”, they were imperative for businesses to stay open.

During 2021, we have taken on new and exciting projects helping businesses to optimise their IT.  In the past 18 months we have onboarded many new clients, and this is down to our excellent reputation as the ‘go to’ fully managed IT service provider.  That is something both I and my fellow Directors are incredibly proud of.

As a business we cover a multitude of IT disciplines, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service and being “Your local IT department” – we can only achieve this by continually recruiting the best possible people and significantly investing in those people and the services we offer.’
