Julie Taylor first joined David Allen in our accounts department.  She worked closely with our one of our Partners, Julie Osborn, who she says was ‘very supportive, inspirational and the most amazing role model’.  After completing her AAT in 2010, Julie moved to another accounts team to progress and gain more knowledge which led to her being appointed our internal accountant and then promoted again, to manage our admin and HR teams.

Julie said  “Our staff are always encouraged to develop and there is always room for improvement.  I feel so lucky to work so closely with the partners and alongside such great leaders.  They fill me with ambition and my voice really matters to them.  They want to influence people and really drive people, which they do.”

We asked Julie to take part in a little Q&A:

What is your job title and role? – Practice Accountant.  My job is really varied, not one day is ever the same, which I love.  I manage Administration and HR, as well as managing the Dalston building and David’s farm.  A lot of people think that being an Accountant is a really boring job, but that is definitely not the case at #TeamDA.

What do you love about #TeamDA? – We are the best at what we do.  Our clients and staff are at the forefront of our minds in everything that we do, as they matter so much to us.  We hold very high standards which come naturally to our amazing teams.  I am so proud to have been here for 15 years and I’m excited to see what the next 15 years has in store.

What motivates you? – I enjoy working here so much, it makes me feel so passionate.  I always look forward to coming to work.

What is your strongest personality trait? – My strongest personality quality is dedication.  I don’t see failure as an option.

Biggest perk of working at #TeamDA? – The biggest perk really is the flexibility.  I don’t have to miss out on my children’s lives, I can still be a great Mum and progress in my career which is very important.  I feel like I can develop personally as well as professionally.  Also, the fact that we have access to such amazing financial advice.  I feel proud and privileged that if a friend or family member asks about pensions or mortgages, I am able to refer them to the best financial experts.  I also love that I work with such an amazing, talented, and influential team.
