Michael Peile, celebrates 20 years at David Allen in Carlisle

Our people really are the best at what they do and how they do it. We celebrate with Michael Peile on his 20 years’ #TeamDA journey. He is a huge part of David Allen’s success.

Michael started working at #TeamDA at 16 years old. He was still in school with no idea of what he wanted to do, however, he was always naturally good at maths so when David offered him an opportunity to start working as an accounts apprentice, Michael jumped at the chance. When he first started there were only 7 other members of staff who all worked from the haulage yard… the Dalston office hadn’t been built at this stage! We now have over 100 members of staff with 5 office locations so Michael has definitely seen the company expand!

We asked Michael what his greatest achievement is:

I can look back now and realise that passing my AAT and chartered qualification by the age of 21 is a great accomplishment – at the time it just seemed like the most natural progression.

What does he love about working at David Allen?

“The best part of my job is definitely the social side. I really enjoy interacting with my clients and building strong relationships. It really is a great feeling knowing that I have been able to help all my clients who are all from various backgrounds. David Allen is a great company to work for, as we are a very flexible and modern company always striving to be the best. We love to provide development opportunities and encourage staff to grow and develop and I am incredibly proud of my team who work so hard.”

We spoke to David Allen and here is what he had to say about Michael’s achievement:

“It’s been great to see Michael join us as an apprentice, embracing training and development to progress within the business. He started at the bottom and is now at the top. He’s built a meaningful life in our business and the community dealing with local rural businesses. He has built a real sense of belonging. Just the job.”
