It’s been three months since I joined David Allen Financial Services and I can proudly say I am loving my new role.  I have received different enquiries each and every day, all with individual circumstances and personal requirements.  One of the biggest assets in my new role is undoubtedly David Allen’s whole of market search tools. Being able to access so much more of the market has greatly broadened what I can do for my clients.

There is no better feeling than finishing my working week, knowing I have made such a positive impact on my client’s mortgage matters, especially when it is often the biggest monthly outgoing that they have.

A lovely example is, we recently assisted a First Time Buyer with the purchase of her new property. Initially I had a quick chat with Miss Baxter over the phone and shared with her our checklist of items needed in order to get the ball rolling.  After kindly gathering together documents such as ID, Payslips, Bank Statements, we then met face to face, at a covid safe distance, for a comprehensive fact find.

During this meeting I established what the budget was, the amount of deposit available, and most importantly I helped my client to understand, in simple terms, how the process works when you buy a property.  I put my client at ease by explaining in plain English, in a friendly manner, all those daunting technical terms.

Based on the information provided at the face-to-face meeting, I then went away to do my whole of market research to find the most appropriate and cost-effective deal.  This involved obtaining a ‘Decision in Principle’ which most estate agents will ask for, to prove you can put an offer in on the property you want.  This gave Miss Baxter the peace of mind that she could go and view properties with the confidence a mortgage would be offered in the background.

Within a couple of days of Miss Baxter finding a property, we submitted a full application and within one week we were able to provide Miss Baxter and her solicitor the full mortgage offer.  We already had all the documents we needed from when she was in the office, so there was no fuss and no need for her to come back and see me for this.

To make the job even more rewarding, Miss Baxter came back to me with some amazing feedback;
