My career with David Allen started in 2017. Having started in the building society sector over fifteen years ago, my career has taken me through roles in compliance, customer relations, electronic money, business support and finally on to Independent Financial Advice. I have spent the last seven years working in Financial Services departments of two accountancy practices in Cumbria.
I chose David Allen because the Financial Services team share my enthusiasm for financial advice and have the same drive for providing holistic financial advice as I do. Each customer here is an individual and the planning we do here is unique for every client.
My greatest professional achievement would be gaining my Level 4 Diploma and my Level 6 Pension Transfers certificate. I strive to make sure that my clients are kept up to date with all changing legislation, communicating the changes as quick as possible.
I am down to earth and provide straight-talking advice that is easy for my clients to understand. I am not happy with a plan until the client completely understands what they are doing and is totally comfortable with it.
Meeting clients is one of my favourite aspects of my role, getting to know them and understanding their lives. Planning is about improving a client’s situation and building a solution which suits their needs, you can’t do this to the best of your ability if you don’t know them first.
Clients tell me that I am very good at explaining the processes that we follow and that they appreciate the level of detail we go into during each step of the process.
I enjoy walking in the fells and open water swimming. When the conditions are wrong for enjoying the great outdoors, I prefer to stay warm in front of the TV where I indulge in my addiction to crime drama, in fact I like to think that if I wasn’t a financial adviser I would make a pretty good a Private Detective!
