Troy Barbour

I approached David Allen in February 2021 to see if they had any apprenticeships specialising in accountancy and since I joined the team, I haven’t looked back.  I am studying for my  Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)and hope that I will continue to work towards my Chartered Accountant Qualification (ACA).

The great thing about being an apprentice at David Allen is having the opportunity to learn on the job, whilst being pointed in the right direction by a group of excellent accountants.

I love learning new skills, whether it’s in my field of work or not.  I enjoy problem solving and get a great amount of satisfaction when I get it right.

Fun fact

I’m a bit of a Robert Burns enthusiast, having been reciting his work since I was young.  One of the greatest awards I had the honour of receiving was being the Young Burnsian of Scotland in 2015 and the Best Verse Speaker of Scotland in 2018.  I can’t wait for January to come back round so I can get back out and do what I enjoy best. This year I was delighted to be the Sanqhar Cornett.
