Victoria Bishop

As the Tax Manager at David Allen, I manage the tax compliance function, overseeing the preparation of more than 3,000 personal tax returns for individual and partnership clients. I am also involved in ad hoc consultancy work and take pride in the training and line management of our talented tax team. Every day is different and I enjoy the challenge of keeping everything running smoothly while ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of expertise and support.

I began my career with HMRC in Workington, later moving into private practice. After 16 years of working on the West Coast of Cumbria, I took a mid-career break to study History and Museum Studies at Durham University. Returning to Cumbria and joining David Allen felt like the perfect opportunity to bring my career full circle while continuing to grow professionally.

What I find most rewarding about my role is the connection with people – both clients and colleagues. Working in tax is not just about numbers; it is about understanding people’s goals and helping them achieve what is best for their family and career. I also enjoy mentoring my colleagues and watching them develop in their roles.
