Independent Financial Adviser, David Malin, reassures you that the service provided by David Allen Financial Services is jargon free and relatable.
My aim as an adviser is that no matter what type of investment, pension or ISA, the fundamentals of investing are the same and each client is treated in the same jargon free manner regardless of how much they are investing.
When meeting with a new or existing client, I ensure that I fully understand their circumstances in order to deliver the best possible advice. The David Allen group operate on a ‘client first basis’, everything we do is for our clients, and delivering a personal service is something that we pride ourselves in.
It is important that clients feel comfortable asking questions and can freely understand everything that we discuss or provide. Financial Services is often misunderstood to be for wealthy individuals who are financially rich and understand the world of finance, however this is not the case. Let’s face it, phrases such as ‘asset class’ and ‘risk management’ mean nothing unless they are explained to you and I ensure you fully understand them before we even look at moving on to the next step!
I was lucky enough to meet a fantastic lady recently, who had a self-titled ‘dreaded blue folder’ which she described as ‘bursting at the seams’ with reams of paper relating to her investments. Sandra’s first words to me were ‘financial advisers send me to sleep with charts and long discussions which I don’t understand’. But within the first hour of our meeting, she told me that she had understood more about her investments from our short time together, than she had in her whole life with her previous advisers.
After condensing her ‘dreaded blue folder’ Sandra said ‘The advice I received was fantastic. I now have a portfolio which I understand, and a plan for my investments that is clear and uncomplicated’.
By sticking to my mantra of making the complex simple, I was able to help a client who had previously had a stereotypical view of us advisers.
